Matthew Humphreys
Originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Matthew began acting in high school. He went on to study acting at Emerson College (BFA), the London Academy of Dramatic Art and Yale School of Drama (MFA). After spending years doing regional theater and work in New York City, he moved to Venice Beach, California to live with his wife, Alexis Chiu. In LA, Matthew became affiliated with Young Storytellers, a non-profit that mentors 5th graders in at-risk elementary schools, overseeing them writing their own short screenplay. He also volunteer taught acting at a teen center for homeless youth in LA called Hollywood Arts. Matthew currently lives in NYC, where he has helped to bring Young Storytellers to NY and splits his time between volunteering, auditioning, and taking care of his infant daughter. He was most recently seen on Amazon's political satire "Alpha House" starring John Goodman. He plays a Colonel and former team captain of the UNC Tar Heels basketball team where John Goodman's character coached for years before becoming a senator -- a dream role for Matthew as he is a die-hard Tar Heel fan.
He is a proud member of the Actors Center Workshop Company.
