Jerry L. Beasley

Jerry L. Beasley

Jerry L. Beasley is a native of Indianapolis Indiana. Born on June 3, 1965, the youngest of three, he always seemed to find himself on the backburner on many occasions. One of his more humorous quips is, "My baby book?...You'll only find my name there, no pics." From the beginning, Jerry's parents found it very necessary that all three of their boys were heavily involved in sports and athletics. All the while, Jerry co-existed in a world of his own which included drawing, sketching, creating stories, and imagining characters. Jerry's fascination with the arts became all too clear when he decided at eight years old to stay home from a family outing to watch Robert Preston and Shirley Jones in the classic Broadway movie-musical "The Music Man". The Music Man was and still remains his all time favorite musical. He has often admitted that he would drop any and everything for The opportunity to play the role of Harold Hill. Not long after, his dream of seeing a live production finally came true. At the age of 12, his parents took him to Footlite Musicals to see "Mame". "Mame" ignited a desire to perform onstage. Still not able to sway his parents, his love for the creative (and no doubt, in homage to Professor Harold Hill), his path lead him to the marching band where he played trumpet for 6 years. With a high appreciation and a growing desire for theater, realizing that he'd never been onstage before, Jerry decided that working on the technical staff of the shows at his High School (Ben Davis) was a great way to get familiar with shows and stagecraft. Unfortunately, time spent backstage making theater "magic" happen also cultivated a major case of stage fright which would prevent Jerry from stepping onto the stage as an actor in a live performance until his late 40's. Awakened by the question, "What am I afraid of?!?", Jerry auditioned for the Indianapolis Men's Chorus. After singing with the chorus for two seasons, he auditioned for Footlite Musicals production of Big River. After a very successful run and a life altering stage debut, Jerry has never been the same! He went on to perform in musicals such as The Rocky Horror Show, La Cage, White Christmas, and a number of award winning productions. Deciding to go further into unknown territory, Jerry began to explore film opportunities. To date, Jerry has been involved in three film projects with three that are still in process. For a wonderful look at Jerry on film, take a look at "Operation Dunkirk", his first film outing, streaming on Amazon Prime and Hulu plus. After numerous stage performances, producing shows, and film opportunities, Jerry is always ready for the next project.
