Alison McGirr
Alison McGirr, an Australian actress born to Irish parents, spent her childhood between Sydney and Ireland. Alison studied Fine Arts Acting at QUT in Brisbane, Australia and upon graduating received the Jennifer Blocksidge Award for the 'Most Outstanding Actor". Producing and starring in many independent theatre productions, she made her on screen debut on Australian soap opera Home and Away (1988) followed by an appearance on Penny Dreadful (2014) In 2017 she was cast in Bruce Beresford's latest film Ladies in Black, which went on to become the highest grossing Australian Film of 2018 and an instant classic. She can be seen in the hilarious dramedy THIRTY, a series about four friends trying to get their lives together after they hit the big 3-0. Season two is due to be released later this year, with filming of a third season slated to begin soon. Alison's next film is the highly anticipated Lily by Irish filmmaker Graham Cantwell based on the multi award winning short film of the same name.
