After releasing his first film, Naked Beneath the Water (2006) in early 2008, he went on to direct six more films, Silent Night, Zombie Night (2009) (with The Walking Dead (2010) alumni, Lew Temple), The Last House (2015) (which stars Jason Mewes , best known from the Kevin Smith films as "Jay") and SyFy fare such as Jurassic City (2015) (with Ray Wise), Terror Birds (2016), and Eruption: LA (2018). Cain's seventh film, Dead by Dawn (2020) is getting back to his horror roots.
When he isn't directing, Sean has carved out a niche as an editor having worked on 50+ feature films that can be seen all over the world on streaming services like - Netflix, Paramount +, SyFy, Lifetime, Hallmark and many others.
Sean also served as producer on two other projects, Someone's Knocking at the Door (2009) and Warning!!! Pedophile Released (2009) in the span of less than a year, which prompted Fangoria to dub him the "Indie Horror Specialist."
