Ben Chase
Ben Chase was born in Manhattan, New York City, New York. His family lived in a number of other states including Illinois, Connecticut, Georgia and Florida. He attended Tufts University where he received his B.A. He then received his MFA in Acting from the Brown University/Trinity Rep Program.
He appears opposite Ben Affleck, Anne Hathaway and Willem Defoe in Dee Rees' THE LAST THING HE WANTED. Other credits include wounded English Lieutenant James in LIBERTE: A CALL TO SPY. Ben appeared in the Emmy-winning film JIM: THE JAMES FOLEY STORY playing the American journalist James Foley in recreations and has a supporting role in the upcoming feature MIKE, MIKE TAN.
TV appearances include roles on MONSTERLAND, TRANSPARENT, DIFFICULT PEOPLE, THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA, UNDOCUMENTED among others.
On stage, Ben has starred in a revival of ANNA CHRISTIE off-Broadway and acted opposite 2017 Tony nominee John Douglas Thompson in the first American cast of RED VELVET at Shakespeare and Company in Massachusetts. He works frequently at the Old Globe, playing Mercutio in ROMEO AND JULIET in 2019 and appearing in Chad Beckim's NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY in 2020.
He's developed and performed new work at Atlantic Theater, Playwrights Horizons, Nat'l Black Theatre, the Drama League, Rattlestick Playwrights, New Dramatists and others.
