Chiara Aurelia
Chiara Aurelia is quickly emerging as one of young Hollywood's must watch stars. In 2021 she stars as Cruel Summer (2021)'s lead Jeanette Turner in the new Freeform series Cruel Summer, for Executive Producers Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple. The first season took place over the course of three summers - 1993, 1994, 1995 - where a teen girl (Jeanette) goes from being a sweet, awkward outlier in 1993 to the most despised person in America by 1995. The series premiered in 2021 to rave reviews, becoming Freeform's most-watched series premiere and its most-watched series of all time and then was released Internationally on Amazon. For her outstanding performance, Aurelia received Best Actress nominations from both the Hollywood Critics Association and the Women's Image Network Awards. Cruel Summer took the Best Cable Series award from Hollywood Critics Association.
Fear Street: 1978 (2021) was also released in 2021 and Aurelia plays the antagonistic role of Sheila opposite Sadie Sink in the second of this Netflix thriller trilogy. She also stars alongside Lily Rabe and Amy Brenneman in the Amazon Prime Video drama series Tell Me Your Secrets (2021), which dropped on the platform in the Spring of 2021.
Chiara will star opposite Mila Kunis and Connie Britton in the highly anticipated Netflix film Luckiest Girl Alive (2022), based on the New York Time's best-selling novel of the same title. Mike Barker directs.
Aurelia is well known for her performance as a younger version of Carla Gugino in Netflix's Gerald's Game (2017), a film about a woman (Gugino) fighting to break free after being left handcuffed to a bed frame due to her husband's unexpected death. Aurelia won a BAM award and Young Entertainer Award for this 2018 film, in addition to the movie being recognized by the iHorror Awards and the Fright Meter Awards. She also co-starred in the 2018 crime thriller Back Roads (2018), which won Best Feature at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, in which she appeared opposite Juliette Lewis, Nicola Peltz and Alex Pettyfer. For this film, Aurelia earned another Young Entertainer Award in 2019.
Aurelia's other screen credits include appearances in NBC's The Brave (2017), ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars (2010), CBS' CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000), ABC's Agent Carter (2015) and the indie films Big Sky (2015), Secret Summer (2016) and Opal (2014), to name just a few. For her role in Opal (2014), Aurelia earned a Best Young Artist Award at the CineRockom International Film Festival.
Chiara Aurelia is a nineteen-year-old actress, dancer, and singer. Born in Taos, New Mexico, Chiara began acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater at age four, and traveled between the mountains of the Southwest and the Sunshine State, while her focus remained firmly in the arts. She moved to Los Angeles full time in 2014 to pursue her acting career.
Aside from her acting, Chiara very much enjoys helping others, as she believes kindness is created through compassion towards others. Chiara supports numerous local and international non-profit organizations, and she donates 10% of her net income to various charities. She has volunteered and supported finding happy homes for animals through No Kill Los Angeles & Best Friends Animal Society. She also volunteers to feed the homeless through The Angel Food Project in Los Angeles, and is a member of the Young Leaders Council at Oceana.
